I really dont want to let you down buddy ..
I still have alot of loose ends to tie up before pulling the L28E out of the car
If it wasnt for IDROVEATRUCKONCE I wouldnt even be rolling around right now .. So its coming together and I'll keep you and everyone else posted .. but I still feel like I'm just throwing money at things with no results ..

For me the oil is usually used as a "Alternator Lubricant"
If you dont know oil destroys alternators .

Whats going back in there? My kowledge of old Datsun engines isn't what it should be, is the L28E normally found in a 280Z or a 280ZX?

This. One every car I've ever checked, the metal beneath an oil leak is in pristine condition. Even if the paint's been chipped away entirely.

Once I had a 90 Accord with 230+k on it. Under the hood was all coated in grease and filth, probably from slight oil leaks and such. I bought a can of that engine cleaner and went to down. Two days later several of the smaller elements were completely rusted.
